Well done! Mine are due tomorrow... they were supposed to be posted today, but because of the postal strike, they were sent yesterday and may or may not arrive tomorrow. And we can also get the overall category from blackboard, but that's undergoing maintenance tomorrow!

Enjoy the rest of the summer!

I was 2 marks off a commendation - buggered up by the evilness that was our commerical law course

When you already have a training contract, is it conditional on you obtaining a certain grade in the LPC (and the GDL for that matter if you do it) or do you simply have to pass?

It depends on the firm
Everyone at the firm I was vaccing at all seemed to have distinction... although it wasn't conditional, they got 500 quid if they got it which they saw (at the time) as a good incentive.

That's an interesting one! I know quite a few people who had to pass everything first time (in theory), but not more than pass.
Yeah I've seen policies like that. They could pass, it just so happened that they were saying "if you get offered a TC with a top firm, you should be able to get Commendation in your sleep". There was a severe lack of respect for te course being floated around.

This was the policy for my TC -pass and do it first time.

Well done on your distinction!!!!!!!!!!
Congratulations!!!!!!!!!

Lewisy there is a lack of respect for the LPC from what I've heard, certainly everyone I know on a TC says the LPC didn't help much or if at all.
I hated every second of the course personally. But you need it and it needed to be done, and thankfully its now over and I can go to Italy without the dreaded resits to do!!!!!! x x

I was the other way around, my average was 59 until I blitzed family with 78! Ended up with 63 average!
You should have done family, seriously straightfoward, 50 marks for filling out a divorce petition and a Form E (all info provided, just a matter of copying the right stuff into the right boxes!)

It's interesting people have said that, as everyone I spoke to on different work experience placements said how much they enjoyed the LPC and how well it prepared them for their TCs!!! I guess everyone has different experiences, but personally I thought it was a great year... that is, apart from the IP elective, which I absolutely hated and only just passed

Anyway, I just have to work out what to do for the next 13.5 months until I start my TC!
