    Heyo

Looking to buy a laptop for work and was wondering if there is any that can double up as a second monitor for a PC (tower) or a PS4.

    Thanks

There are but they're quite rare & usually expensive. I saw an Alienware one that did this but it was about £2000.
Most laptops only have HDMI Output. You'd need one with HDMI Input too.
You might be better off getting with something like this although I'm not 100% sure you'd be able to run a PC through it.

Yes and no. It usually isn't possible to physically connect a device to use a laptop as output for a few reasons. Laptops need to be powered on for the screens to work and if they're powered on the rest of the machine is working. Thus you don't have just a monitor. Furthermore ports on laptops, especially older laptops may be configured only for output. You might have a HDMI port but it might be HDMI out only. It may not work as an input.

There are a few ways you can get a laptop to function as a monitor for a PC, via things like networked monitors and casting.

As for the PS4 I believe you can use something along the lines of remote play but you'd need to look into this. There may be other apps that allow you to cast your screen to another device.

In both cases you can google it for more details.
