Will be starting the access to nursing course in September and have been in a bit of a panic about how I will finance it because I was under the impression it was classed as full-time, meaning my support would be stopped.

However, got a email from college today saying they should be considered part-time as it has been in the past.

Can anybody clarify? It's the one year course.

    Thanks.

I had this problem last year, I got an a letter from the college confirming the course is part time in case I had nay problems with support but they never asked about it in the end.

Though technically I think it is full tim (more than 16 hours a week inc home study).

Thank you. Have emailed them back asking them to confirm what it is. If it is confirmed I will ask for a letter.

As long as your access course is less than 16 hours a week you are fine. I know two people who were claiming support and attending a access course at the same time; as the course was only 14 hours. Just dont mention that you will be studying in your own time.

Also if anyone asks just give them ypur rota and calculate the hours of each lessons, should be less than 16 hours
