Basically I haven't seen one of my mates for a couple of years (went to different 6th form colleges) and recently he's got a place at uni near me in LDN.

Well I said to him, we should go for a drink now he's back. He said yeah fine and then msg'd me yesterday with "I'm in Camden next weekend so I can see you, maybe in City though. Busy in morning so probs after lunch sometime"

Is it me or does that sound like he can't be bothered?? Like yeah maybe this place, this time.
Or am I just reading too much into that?

That sounds like a pretty normal text to me. Just reply with a time and place suggestion.

Yeh that's what I think. If I wanna meet up I say "is okay this place/time okay with you - we can meet up then if you like". Not basically "I'm only available in this place (maybe) after this time (maybe)

I dunno, seems off to me.

i think that he does bother and he probs does want to go out with u for a drink, but maybe he is busy and if he wasnt bothered he would not have replied to ur text at all.
    Hope this helps

He has been a bit unspecific, but maybe that's how he texts? Send him a message back to clarify things.

    "So 2pm, outside [name place]?"

    Problem solved.

If he didn't want to see you, and wasn't bothered, he'd have ignored it and not bothered suggesting anything.
Sounds enthusiastic if anything. Some people just don't have specific plans.

Sounds fine to me, just means he's already got plans in place that aren't set in stone so he's trying to balance both.

If he didn't want to see you he wouldn't have text.

there's nothing weird about it - it sounds like he's just trying to be straightforward about what works for him, if he's busy and has limited availability it makes more sense to go 'yes I want to see you, this is my availability' rather than a long back and forth of 'what about this time' 'doesn't work what about this?' etc
