I'm going to uni in September around 2.5 hours away from my hometown where my boyfriend (a couple of years older) also lives. How much is average to see eachother in person in uni relationships? I know it differs from person to person but I just kind of want a general answer?

Me and my ex were going to different unis and we are 3 hours apart. We lasted a year and a half and it made me quite miserable actually.. not that of course it will happen to you. It's not common for long distance relationships to last the length of a uni course though

We saw each other around once/twice a month and skyped once every two days. I think it works if both people try to make an effort. It easily spirals if one person stops bothering

Were you in halls? How did you manage to balance making/keeping friendships and seeing your boyfriend? Sorry for so many questions haha! I obviously want to see my bf as much as I can but I'm worried that I'm not going to make friends if I see him too much

I Was yeah, I went home at the end of freshers week to get my braces off so I saw him then, then he came up the following weekend, and it just kind of alternated from there. I saw my friends during the week and then on the weekends when he came up we all hung out together so I was spending time with him and seeing my friends

I think every other week seems to be manageable. It means you both travel about once a month (if you split it) which is reasonable while leaving you every other weekend for your own friendships/study/work which is important as well.

Different people do different things though, I know people who only saw each other during the holidays and people who spent every weekend together.
