Right, the ex girlfriend changed her password last night to her hotmail account.
She tried to log in last night and kept typing it in wrong. It now says "lock out" when she tries to input the password.

Unfortunately, she made up her secret question when she was 13 and doesnt know the answer anymore (21 now!)

The option of sending the password to an alternative email address is out as the silly girl set her alternative address as the same address she now cannot access.

It is the free hotmail account and there are a lot of important emails that she wants to keep.

How can I help her? She has given me her old password and the new password and neither work. It still says lock out.

Any techsperts out there with an idea???

Can you post a screenshot of the lockout screen?
(Block out the email address if needed).

I don't know if there still is, but there was - at one point at least - a feature where you could get your password back by filling in personal details and an old password.
