My friend was subjected to termination because he does not want to follow company's protocol (BYOD). He has been working in a BPO industry for more than 15 years and he is turning 60 years old this August 10. I would just like to ask if the company has the right to terminate him from work because of these reasons. What are your thoughts?

Yeah they do have the right.

Typically they put it in their policy.. Something along the lines of - "We reserve the right to take disciplinary action, including the termination of ones contract for noncompliance with said policy"

I guess its wiser if he just follows and adapts their company's policy. Anyway, I am going to tell my friend about what you said. Hope it would help him decide! TY
