After you do an accounting degree do you still have to do the full 2-3 years with a professional body like ACCA before you become fully qualified. If so, what are the main benefits from doing an accounting degree rather than just signing up with an accounting body?

You can be exempted from 9/14 papers depending if you choose tax and audit for years 2 and 3. Check that your course gives these exemptions with acca. The three years work experience is still required. but you'll have a better time transitioning from an accounting degree to working life and many of the professional papers build on the knowledge you have already gained.
