I'm a 16 year old guy who from the outset has a nice life. I have a bad family situation but I had a very strong friend circle to help me through it. However, 2 years ago I moved school and now the friends I have there I just find really shallow and I get sick of them quite quickly.

Before I continue if you don't wanna read the rest , question is: where do 16 year olds hang out? Haven't found many ppl outside my own big friendship circle when I've been trying to make completely new fiends. Does everyone just hang out with their friend circle? I've tried the mall, gym, sports club, running club, courses, movies etc but no luck.

Seems all they do is drink and talk about girls/boys depending on if they are a girl or boy. I sorta got sick of this lifestyle about a year ago but I've found it really hard to meet new people my age outside of my own circle. I've gone to parties of friends to meet more and more people but I find them all really similar.

I guess I'm looking for people who are not so shallow and basically all "bimbos". But I've tried like joining a new sports club, gym, tried new courses for stuff I really wanted to learn to do like cooking but haven't met the right people. Aside from loser stuff like summer camp, I'm running out of options.

This has led to me becoming severely depressed and also feeling like life is quite empty. My friends don't really get it even though they always try to take care of me. I've also developed some weird voice in my head that always tells me I'm never going to find these new friends that will hopefully fix my problem.

Anyway, so my question is firstly do any of you have this issue? And then also like where do you hang out? Just haven't found like anyone my age outside my circle much, and haven't found anyone who's cool. Seems everyone hangs around in their own circle but where do 16 year olds hang out? Would really like to meet other friends, don't care at all what background or upbringing in case anyone thinks that. If I like u, I like u.

Thanks and sorry for long message!

Have you heard of NCS? I made quite a few friends from it, it's quite a rewarding experience as well.
