    Hi

I have a BTEC Diploma (not extended) that equals 260 UCAS points (D*D) and I've only received foundation offers for Computer Science.
Naturally I have been considering going for this but after discussing with a friend he's told me to wait until results day as universities are more likely to have places and willing to offer it to people with lower grades.
The point requirement for Computer Science is 280 points.

Anyone know anything more on this theory? Thanks.

    Hi,

From what I've heard on results day if unis have spaces in their course then they may lower their entry requirements as they have to try their best to fill up the spaces on their course, my advice is that you should ring unis asking them if they would accept you on results day, you are pretty close to the entry requirements so hopefully you'll find a place

    Good Luck

Have you actually accepted an offer yet? If you have, and it's unconditional, you won't be able to go into Clearing unless your current uni releases you. If you haven't accepted an offer, you can have a look around now for Clearing places and see what they say.

See Changing your Mind for more information about getting released into Clearing. If you need to do this, you need to be very quick about it.

So do you have a Clearing number? If you do, you can start ringing round and seeing whether you can find a course that will accept you without doing a Foundation Year.

I have done that but the unis I want to go to have already said they can't yet. What I'm asking is whether or not I should re apply when results come out hoping grades lower.
