well i talked to my uncle and he is C.A in uk,he said me that for grad trainee schemes to start in sep08 i shud apply max by sep07 because we i as international students need work permit and there is lot of rush for work permit applications.

but the problem is that all grad positions start in aug08 and i will have to apply this year for them and the applications open for all the firms in july or aug 07.so this is kinda strange and how can i apply for jobs by not even attending my uni and finishing my Msc.most of them said that as soon as positions fill up no more applications will be accepted.so do u think i have a chance on any grad schems if i apply lets say in oct07 for the 08 schemes.by this way atleast i will be in the uni and will be able to take advice of uni's career services.

i dont really understand what your saying but i will take a guess. You can apply when they open i.e. aug/sept (either month wont put u at a disadvantge, just dont leave it till nov/dec) for 08 entry, they will ask for ur course which you can put down, you dont need to be actually starting the uni to just apply. Ah regarding applying in oct as opposed to sept will have no bearing on ur chances imo as ppl apply dec time and r still ok.

Like heartofengland, not sure what is being asked, but you can apply for graduate schemes whilst doing your MSc. I highly doubt you can apply for Sept 08 schemes before at least September 07.

It's probably true about the work permit issue though, and so I would suggest you start having a look at websites or get in contact with the relevant people and enquire about their International Application procedure, and what needs to be done and when.

well i talked to big4 firms and they said they do help in getting work permits but smaller firms like grant thorton said they wont.however most positions open in july end,i assume i will apply in sep for grad schemes.

i am so relieved that i can apply in sep and will be fine, atleast by that time i will be in uni.

thanx a million to heart of england and as usual my friend mr singh
