All we need now is Siaz to defend the Iranian side, JonH to advocate the use of squirrels in military combat and Dave777 to complain and we'll have ourselves a nice little thread.

In all seriousness (and the article is anything but), the US (and by extension, Raeli) military has been playing around with animals in spying & combat for a long time.

    Plus there is this:

Arrested them? Don't they have shotguns in Iran?

Sits back chuckling at the mental images of Iranian guards running around after Squirrels whilst carrying tiny pairs of handcuffs

I wouldn't be surprised if any security services used animals if possible, as Dirac has shown.

Can you imagine if a war broke out over this? Although, it isn't actually entirely impossible that they weren't really spies - maybe they had microphones hidden on them or something? Were they really just 'inside the border', or were they in the presidential grounds or something? This is either ridiculous or ingenious.

With tiny handcuffs and a miniature police van...

That or by training your own Squirrel police force/secret service.
