How hard is a HNC in Social sciences?

I applied to do the course HNC Social Sciences. I've been accepted with a unconditional offer and I'm seriously freaking out. I came away with a C (scrapped by) in Higher Modern Studies and a B in Higher Politics in school. I'm literally having nightmares about the college course. I'm worrying about all sorts of things!
'Will I be able to do the essays?', 'how hard are the essays', 'will I be able to understand it?', 'will I be an embarrassment', 'will I meet there standards'. I'm rubbish at math yet my friend said I need it for research and methodology yet they didn't ask for it in the conditions.
Someone who's done the course please put me out of my misery and tell me how hard it is. I'm so anxious that it's giving me failing scenarios in my head!

Has anyone done hnc social sciences and been offered/been to university after the hnc? What grades did you get at school and what grades for the hnc?
