Hi there, I need some advice from people with actual experience on this one. I applied at Portsmouth snd have a place, however I sadly didn't recieve a place in halls, feelsbad. I applied 25th of may and I know of someone who applied a few days before me and recieved a place in halls. My question is, how likely am I to recieve a place in halls after results day? Ive called the housing place a couple times now and my name has been noted down that I am still interested in halls accommodation, thanks in advance.
One last question, on the phone I was told if a spot opened up I would be notified by the end of august, providing I waited and didn't recieve a place still, how hard would it be for me to find accommodation at thay point in time? As of now i have seen a couple houses that look nice, and I'm in a chat with like 3 other people that have an accommodation ready but sadly they just don't seem like 'my people'.

Nobody is going to know the answer to this apart from Portsmouth. I wouldn't keep pestering them because it looks like you've missed out, so they've given you a choice. Wait until the end of August for a potential (key word: potential) place in halls. Or find somewhere else now.

I would look for somewhere else to live to be honest. If you've got the balls to wait and hope a spot comes up then by all means wait, but if a spot doesn't come up you're going to really be struggling to find somewhere to live. Those people might not seem like 'your people', but try not to be so judgemental. I know that's pretty difficult, and we're all guilty of pre-judging people, but uni is all about broadening your horizons and meeting new people that you would never dream of talking to and socialising with. You never know, you may grow to like them. You might hate them too, but if you go in with an open mind you're less likely to.

I say get this house with those 3 people.
