    This is an alright question. Not too bad.
    Solve the differential equation  \displaystyle x^3\frac{d^3y}{dx^3}+2x^2\frac{d  ^2y}{dx^2}+x\frac{dy}{dx}-y=3x .

    Mate I haven't even gotten to second order differentials and you're tagging me in a third order differential...

    I did but we didn't do FP3 in which second order differentials are covered. I'm self-teaching myself that over this summer but haven't gotten to that yet.

    Don't you need three arbitrary constants or is that only if the coefficients are constant?

    Oh yeah I forgot one. Edited it now.
    I think that there are three arbitrary constants for third order regardless of whether there are variable or constant coefficients.
