Please can someone give me the official list of the qualities of the officer? I know there's a list of about four or five key qualities, but I don't seem to be able to pin it down, and my notes from the presentation don't seem to include this particular snippet of information!

I'm well aware this sounds like a stupid question, but I've been pulled up in the past for giving answers in my own words, rather than giving the official answer as a starting point and THEN developing it. I'm well aware in my own mind of the qualities an officer needs, but I would just like to be aware of the official line on this as well.

    Thanks in advance.

i hate to say it, but you've either got it, or you haven't.

    Natural leadership qualities
    Maturity
    Ability to learn
    Management
    Aptitude
    Team player

    Thats just a few.

Didn't know there was an offical list for officer qualities, but AP1 'Ethos, Core Values and Standards of the Royal Air Foce' (cracking read BTW) says that the core values of the Service are:

    Respect: Mutual and self Respect
    Integrity: Integrity always
    Service: Service before Self
    Excellence: Striving for Excellence

Makes you proud doesn't it!!!!

Thanks all. I'm starting to see why I don't have an official list! I just didn't want to end up in another interview situation being told "your answers are right, but we've given you the official answers - USE THEM FIRST!".

Ability to drive a dodgem backwards, drink at least 10 pints, 5 cheeky ports, numerous cocktails and all the free champagne available, go outside in the rain and play on the laser clay-pidgeon shooting, banter (essential) with the bar staff and all the NCO catering guys, dance (perhaps badly), play Texas hold-'em and still be going at 4 in the morning for breakfast.
At least that's what was needed last week at the mess summer ball.
I must admit, I didn't make it to breakfast - I had a look in but the queue was too long. And I had been doing some of the drumming for the last two hours.
    It was a good night.
"Fun" - one of harry staish's four priorities. And god's bless 'im for it.

Got to love summer ball season. I didn't make it to champagne breakfast either though!

The RAF summer balls are fantastic, just deciding what to wear that is the problem
