Yes. You'll get cleaning inspections twice a term [the second one of term your room will be checked too], and if it is not up to standard, a charge will be taken from your deposit.
2.
Depends on the people in your house. Sort this out when you arrive, but generally, people share the cleaning products and just clean as they go. Mops and hoovers are provided already
3.
Officially not, but you'll be fine as long as the steam doesn't set off your smoke detector
4.
What do you mean here? There's plenty of storage space for all your stuff, and I just had my suitcases and boxes etc in a corner of my room or above the wardrobe.

OK. They were renewed this year and a LOT LOT better than they used to be! Quite expensive though, £1.60/1.80 for a wash, and £1 for a dry. It gets your clothes nice and clean though. Laundries are located throughout campus and town and vary in size, the one in PJM has 12 washers and 12 dryers [but I normally use 2 at a time to get all my stuff done in one go]

Check with your department. When you know what modules you are registered for [which won't be untill you register in freshers week], each module has it's own page online with reading lists

I normally spend a good £60-70 a week , £30 on food, a good £20-30 on going out, as well as other things, sometimes it tops £100 a week, especially at the beginning of term when getting books and things

If you have considerate flatmates it's fine. Last year we knew who's food was whatr because we just stuck to specific shelves in the fridge/freezer, and you'll have your own food cupboard in the kitchen.
9.
Not really no. A bigger problem tends to be people using your stuff and not washing it up after!
10.
Ironing board, microwave, toaster, kettle, cooker, etc. All the basics really, but if you want a smoothie maker or a George Foreman grill, you'll need you're own!
11.
Depends if you watch a lot of TV. Bearing in mind though you'll need a TV licence, but to be honest most people get by by not having a TV. There is always something to do!

It depends. Once you have your Sporty card and your BOS card, socs will tend to cost around £3-5 to join [I think they have to be £3 minimum]
