    Hi!
I have a factory tour with a national Mechanical engineering company tomorrow and I am a bit confused on what to wear whether I should go in a full suit, or go smart casual (shirt, jacket, jeans and smart shoes).

Does anyone have advice as I'm a bit wary.

    Thank you.

I'm assuming the company will provide any necessary PPE?

Is there an interview component as well?

Yeah, said in an email that PPE would be provided at the security office prior to entering the factory. I can't find anything online about their process, and not sure if there is an interview component. I'm guessing there will be.

If there is an interview then definitely wear something smart and business appropriate, like a suit if you have one.

Better to be prepared I suppose! Thanks for your help, fingers crossed.

Thinking back, I've done something similar where a factory tour was provided as part of the overall assessment. Still wore a suit for the interview and presentation bits, though.

Is this for a graduate job, internship, or ... ?

It's for an advanced apprenticeship mate.

I'd go for shirt, tie, trousers and shoes at a minimum then.

Who's the interview with? Factories are boiling at the moment, I'd suggest a suit, but be prepared to ask to take it off.

What can I say, preempting the pun.

But seriously, people are melting. If it's an older factory, it's so hot. Minimal clothing to stay smart.
