Hello, I'm an international student and I want to look for a part time job from September on when I'm back in the UK. However during the summer I need time off at least from mid June in order to travel to see my family. I am afraid that this will make employers not want to hire me and I don't really know how to go about it. Any advice would be much appreciated.

When I was applying for my part time job, I couldn't do lots of hours because of school etc. so when applying I wouldn't say what I couldn't do, but sold myself on optimistic hours, I would later ask to cut down once I had the job. Don't start off by saying you can't do the hours, or time, and when you get the job ask if you could possibly have the time off. However this does depend on the industry though and the skill level of the part time job you want. If its lowly skilled its likely they will have people to fill in and therefore not be too annoyed. Sorry if this is confusing and hope it helps!
