    Random question but I'm curious

Would they make you do it again? Base your grades off of your mocks?

If there's two papers, they'll probably replicate the grade from the first paper. (or, if there's 3, they'll probably replicate the grade from one of the other papers)

what GCX said. They will just average it out through the existing grades.

ofc not sure what would happen if they had a massive data failure or a fire. They have experience though, so will have safeguards to take backups as soon as its in the system. I wouldnt worry.

Wouldn't it be grand if they just gave you a default A* instead

i wouldnt waste a sweat on something that's their fault. sure lose my papers, i dont care, just dont put me into a disadvantage or give me the responsibility for the lost papers :hoppy: im sure they'll be very apologetic or find a way to blame someone.

I hadn't even thought about that happening 😩
Don't they use mock grades if you can't take the exam for whatever reason? I'd assume it would be something like that.

AQA lost my friend's History AS paper last year, and he got a C on that paper despite having As all year. So, not knowing the paper was lost, he applied for a remark but AQA said they had lost the paper and the only possibility would be to resit the paper next year- he has done. Well done AQA

Someone in my year asked for a remark and she found out they lost her paper even though she had a photocopy of the script so she used our exams officer and the exam board agreed to raise the mark by 5 marks which is what she wanted to get an A

Since all papers are scanned there is always an electronic copy as well as the original. Don't worry about it!

Well...I just read an article today saying that A-Level History students in a Northhampton school had their papers 'stolen' on 15 July whilst an AQA examiner had them with them in a bag on train (public transport). So, AQA 'guessed' the grades...based on performance on other papers etc.

Whilst it's EXTREMELY unlikely for this to happen, if this was the case then I believe that they'd take this procedure (information given to me by a few of my teachers):

Which ever paper they lost e.g. paper 2

    Paper 1 - Average Grade - B - Actual Grade A
    Paper 2 - Average Grade - A - Actual Grade ? Paper Lost

They'd simply give you the average grade for that paper
    So you'd get an A.

Once again, the chances of this happening is almost impossible.
