No, I doubt you will find any content on any chem eng cours on tar sand, if so, just a passing mention. Why?

I am looking at a career in Canada's oil industry at the end of uni.

Then you want to know a fair bit about high H2S/CO2 concentrations (sour gas), processing methods and reinjection.

You will not be expected to know much about it even if you do happen to get one specific job in what is a very niche market.
