    Hey guys,

I just found out that I am unable to go to uni for 2 years because I'm considered an international student in the UK. I can apply again next year for 2018/2019 entry.

I was wondering if anyone know what I can do for the next 2 years. I want to do aerospace engineering - should I apply for an apprenticeship? Are there any other options?

    Thank you!

you could find a degree apprenticeship, that way you could still go to uni and get paid for it.

Be careful of apprenticeships if you intend to leave shortly after completion, some companies will request the money back for training they provided you if you leave shortly after completing it. They won't be as gentle in their recovery as student finance is.

Do you have the right to work in the UK? If you don't that could limit your options.

Thank you. I like this idea, however I am in conflict because I want the full uni experience. Do u think it could work if I go to uni part time instead of full time?

Hold on - why do you think you can't go to uni until 2018?

The uni experience is overrated, I'm a fair bit older than a lot of the people on my course, and I did a year at university, so here's my logic.
Why go to uni being a poor student, using paint-stripper vodka to fuel your social events when you could do a degree apprenticeship, get paid well, and still be able to go out and party?
You're still moving out, meeting new people, and existing as a student, but you're also earning enough at the same time.

As to the second part, I think you'd lose the uni lifestyle anyway doing that. With the degree apprenticeship they're pretty inflexible in terms of structure, so you couldn't do a degree apprenticeship part time.

Even if you cannot start studying immediately, try working for sure. Employers really appreciate when you've made any kind of effort and it will be good for a potential masters as well. If they see that you've just hanged around for quite some time, they'll know you don't take initiative. Both employers and admission folks don't like that. If you're having trouble finding work check out some of the websites out there like www.monster.com or www.employebla.com it is a working in progress but it promises a lot. Good luck!
