I will most likely be going to the University of Hertfordshire in September and I was wondering if anyone doing the course already would advise me on books that I would need to purchase and just general warnings that you feel I should know. Thanks!

    Hi Hamish,

There is no need to necessarily get any books before term starts as during induction week your lecturers will discuss with you core texts and what are the best purchases. Also a number of these books will be available in the Learning Resource Centre or as E-books for you to access.

You will be provided with a copy of the UK Ambulance Services Clinical Practice Guidelines 2016, but you may wish to get a pocketbook versio or digital app.· For Anatomy and Physiology, we recommend: "Hole's Human Anatomy & Physiology" by David N. Shier, Jackie L.BUtler and Ricki Lewis. The latest version is stocked in the LRC, but purchasing a copy may be beneficial (it doesn’t have to be the latest edition as these are expensive). For Patient Assessment, we recommend “Macleod's Clinical Examination”, but again, copies are available in the LRC.

    I hope that helps
