Most of my friends live in Harpenden or St Albans and I've taken the train between there and London lots of times.
I think it would be unwise. It would take hours out of your week just travelling and you'd miss out on a hell of a lot.
I'd live in London if I were you.

You might find that a season ticket isn't far off getting a place in London...

I live in St Albans and want to go to uni in london and i take the train there lots. It's usually on time but i takes ages and costs lots. I'd live in london if possible if you live here you're usually treated like everyone else for accomodation and you don't want to have to get back home before the last train comes if you're having a great night out!
