I've done it, horrible experience.

I've never been clubbing sober myself. And I'm the same, I can't dance in a club without a few drinks inside me. Consumption of alcohol = increased confidence, lol.
What do you mean you can't dance sober? If you're afraid of making a fool of yourself just remember that almost everyone else around you is going to be drunk so they don't care about how you dance anyway. Just go and have fun, it'll be alright.

I actually prefer going clubbing sober because I don't like dancing when I'm drunk. It's just not as fun.

I do it all the time.

I really pity the people who already have a reliance on alcohol and are incapable of fun without it. That's really no way to live life.

Ditto. You shouldn't need a drug to have fun.

I entered a club sobre but I certainly wouldn't stay sobre all night - that must be crap. The whole point is to get off with completely random people in the corner and regret the photos the next morning. If I'm going to spend £30 odd it has to involve drunkenness...

It's got nothing to do with not being able to have fun without alcohol, it's about not being able to enjoy being in an environment full of drinkers and basically tailored towards drinking without consuming alcohol yourself.

OP: it's crap in most clubs. It's passable if the club is a very nice one.
Well it depends what you're like. I'm always sober when clubbing, and I only ever dance like WIll Smith in Hitch, it was the same when I used to drink. Tbh I go mainly to pull, which is easier when you're sober....so it can be good, it just depends what you're going for. If you're going to 'have fun' and your idea of having fun is to get drunk then it won't be very fun will it?

Although, the first time you do it it will be funny to see everyone else making a tit out of themself while you're sober as a judge

Lmao, of course I can have fun without alcohol. It's just I don't find clubbing much fun without it. I'm quite self-conscious when dancing sober, whether I think people are watching or not, and so alcohol helps...

EDIT: Agreed with Lib North's post too.

You can have fun without drink outside of a club, you can do it inside a club

Yeah thats it. I can have fun at parties etc, its just when your clubbing nearly everyone is drinking, its generally the done thing.

You're still going to be paying £6-10 entry and buying cokes that cost almost as much as if they had a double JD in them though. (And that's assuming it's a cheapish club, there's one club I know that charge £14 entry before midnight, £18 after)
Go for it!
You save so much money on drinks and transport, still have a laugh with all your friends. Can go home safely when you want, not waiting for ages for a taxi or night bus.The only downside is if you are wearing silly shoes that hurt your feet, you notice and actually mind when you are sober.

why have you got to drive anyway?
Reply 18
I usually go out sober and get drunk there unless I have to look after my friends then I just have coke or water all night.
Reply 19
Because i can't and don't want to pay £10 for a taxi back. It's a silly amount of money. You could have 2 fairly decent nights out for that.
