ive never been to a club thats free to get in :s-smilie:

Well I've been to plenty. I rarely go to paying clubs, there are loads of free ones in London. Those that do charge only usually do so after a certain time.

You're still going to be paying £6-10 entry and buying cokes that cost almost as much as if they had a double JD in them though. (And that's assuming it's a cheapish club, there's one club I know that charge £14 entry before midnight, £18 after)

Well then you're being reeeally ripped off. If somewhere charged anymore than £10 I wouldn't go in. The most I've ever paid is £10. And you don't have to drink soft drinks if you feel ripped off, you can just get tap water, I often do. The only time I'd pay more would be Fabric, or one of those massive raves like in Alexandra Palace.

Because i can't and don't want to pay £10 for a taxi back. It's a silly amount of money. You could have 2 fairly decent nights out for that.

For ten pounds? I couldn't even have an evening in the pub for that...

Don't you go out clubbing with anyone who lives nearby. My taxies back from town usually cost over twenty quid, but it's usually shared between three or more people.

£10  what do you drink? :s-smilie:

Reply 24

Yeah i do. £10 is shared. Its between £8-10 depending on 3 or 4 people sharing, as the taxi is £30 altogether.

I don't mean another night clubbing. I mean like going to the pub and playing some pool etc.

Reply 25

I only go to clubs because pubs close early anyway, its all about the booze :hubba:

I was sober when dancing before, it was a horrible experience :bawling: :afraid:

Reply 26

Clubbing when sober isnt that bad...I've done it a few times!
Just don't go into it thinking that you're going to have a really rubbish time because you're sober.
Do your thing and dance etc just like you would if you were drunk and you'll still have an awesome time

There are no free clubs around here - one or two have cheaper nights though. And if you order tap water, you'll be served the water for free and charged £2.50 for the glass and service charge (and yes that IS legal).

Someone said £10 is two nights out??!? Two nights out is £50+, and that's if I'm being careful! £10 buys you three pints or 2 spirits with mixers.

Reply 29

I'm not sure. It only costs about £2-3 in petrol though, and that doesn't come straight out of my wallet, its money already in my car if you see what I mean, so i can fill that up when i get paid.

And to clarify, £10 isnt 2 more nights out clubbing, and i was generalising. Basically, im saying £10 is alot for a ride home.

Yup. But then most clubs are basically there for the sole purpose of emptying your wallet as fast as possible whilst keeping you in the club long enough to do so.

No i really dont. I've done it before, its awful.

Reply 35

i don't drink anyway, so i never go clubbing drunk.

however, i do ingest other things that might alter my consciousness.

but i don't go clubbing on those all the time either otherwise it would mess up my head royally. you don't need to be inebriated to go clubbing at all.. i mainly go for the music and as long as it's good music, i'm having a good time.

Reply 36

Oh my...I didn't know you had to pay that much for TAP water!

Reply 37

I hate going out when sober (to clubs) - not because I think i'll look like a **** if I dance (I know that even when I am drunk), I just don't want to dance when i'm sober. When people phone into radio stations and say "play 'xyz', it always makes me want to jump up from my desk and dance around" - I NEVER feel like that.

Edit: I've never been to a club that charged for "the glass" with water. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, I'm sure it does, but I can't imagine it's that frequent - as I say, i've never encountered it.

Shout, throw up, do really distracting things that they don't realise is distracting and plus it's just effort getting everyone to finally leave, into the car, then drop them home. It literally takes an hour or so, often. **** that.
