The SDF, a coalition of the YPG and several allied Arab groups, has cleared the city of Manbij from ISIS.

The SDF launched the offensive on the west bank of the Euphrates at the end of May, and within 10 days had encircled Manbij. Since then they've advanced slowly and steadily through the city. They've also had to fight off several ISIS counterattacks that apparently tried to break in to the besieged ISIS fighters inside Manbij.

The US and coalition has conducted many airstrikes in the area in support of the offensive.

Wonder how many innocent civilians would be killed if this were left to SAA/Russia or another terrorist group

As they approach Raqqa it will be like rats from a sinking ship

Hopefully the SAA or YPG can round them all up before they try and escape into Turkey.

Another way to look at it is "how many innocent civilians have been freed from ISIS control".

Or how many innocent civilians who died in the fighting would have survived had ISIS not prevented civilians from leaving the city and then used them as human shields.

The battle has taken about 2 months precisely because they've been trying to limit civilian casualties as much as they can. The US could have levelled the entire city with airstrikes if they wanted to, but they don't want to and they didn't.

There's plenty more pictures from Manbij as well.
