Leeds LLM Conversion Course

Hey!
Thinking of doing the Leeds LLM as a non-Law graduate. This is basically a 2-year conversion course with a heavy weighting on the final dissertation hence the outcome of a masters qualification. I think it is the only institute in the UK that offers such a qualification (correct me if I am wrong).
Looking for advice on this as a stepping stone towards a PhD. Would I be better going for the standard LLB to LLM then on to PhD, or would it be OK to jump from BA to LLM to PhD.
Finally, any info on what Leeds is like from a postgraduate perspective would be great. Is it thought of as a good uni for postgraduate studies in Law?
Thanks!
