Help! I am in an impasse currently because I just narrowly missed my offer for Mechanical Engineering by 2 PUM. The requirement is A*AA but I only achieve AAA. I rang UCL yesterday and the lady said my place isn't guaranteed, advising me to remark my papers. Do you guys know if UCL will be slightly lenient towards engineering courses compared to other courses like econs and humanities? Or will they switch me from the MEng course to BEng since I meet the requirement of the latter. I am an international student. I would really appreciate if some seniors can shed some light on my case. Thanks.

I just finished my 1st yr of mech eng at UCL. They will probably move you from meng to beng, which is dependent upon how many people make their offers. 150 places on a course means 150 places so they cant just squeese anyone in.

Have you considered applying to University of East London? It offers Mechanical Engineering, with Foundation and Masters, as part of the clearing process. It is accredited by the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE), Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation (CIHT) and the Institute of Highway Engineers (IHE). It also holds 93% student satisfaction on the Civil Engineering and Surveying degree according to NSS 2016. You can call clearing on 020 8223 3280, and I'm sure they'll provide you with more information on how to proceed. Hope this helps and all the best!
