Depends, some girls ain't bothered by height. There's lots of these threads on this anyway.

I don't care tbh!

My friend says she'll never ever go out with someone smaller than her, or even kiss them! (she's like 5'8)
which i get quite annoyed at her about for being so fussy lol

How do u know u won't get on so well with the guy and just coz they're smaller means u won't even give it a go!!

Well, some couples are funny when the guy looks like a novelty garden ornament compared to a taller girl.

But everyone to their own..i guess.

call me shallow but i dont think i would go for someone who is smaller than me, but then again it depends on the guy really, if he is nice enough it doesnt really matter. can i ask, does it matter if the girl is taller??

For me yes, but then the girls taller than me are bordering on lanky - which I don't generally go for anyway so...

But its a bigger problem for guys - esp the stigma associated with v. short guys.

Yeah i deffinately like my taller guys, i think they look more attractive and i think there must be something about them being bigger therfore are able to protect you. My bf's over 6 ft but tbh it isnt hard to be taller than me

I think the shortest I'd go is 5ft 8, simply because I'm 5ft 10 and a guy is gonna have to be tall to protect me  Fortunately the bf is 6ft so all is well.

Well funnily enough back in Year 7 I was possibly the smallest guy in the year, way smaller than most girls and I remember the only girl i went for that year was the same height as me - and throughout years7-9 before my growth spurts I would go out with someone equal height but never taller.

I guess its more down to me being quite dominant, and having a taller gf would be unnerving. Talk about primal instincts.
Unfortunately i'd not go for any guy under 6ft. I'm 5'5" so it's not often there are blokes smaller than me about.

It's odd, but I very rarely think of shorter guys in an overtly sexual way (unless he's dating one of my friends or something). I just can't imagine being attracted to a person that was a lot shorter than me. And even if he was the same height, I still can't because I actually see myself as being taller than I am, so the people I think of as being about the same height as me are at least 2 inches taller. So someone my height I'd think of as being about 2 inches shorter than me (if that makes any sense).

But I used to have a 6-6'1 as a minimum rule, and am currently seeing a guy who I'd consider to be 'short' - 5'11/6 so with all the other pluses it's one that can be overlooked. But not the extent that you're talking about.

SHorter then you dosen't mean he won't be able to protect you. He could do weights and really beefed up.

Infact I notice lots of shorter men do weights. Maybe the main reason is so they can have better chance at meeting a female who might be taller than them. Or at least don't get the impression that they can't protect the female.

You make a good point, but I still wouldn't feel as protected if I could see the bad guys over the top of my boyfriends head.
No way. I'm 5'2". I don't want a man that's the size of a little boy.
I don't think I'd ever be attracted to a boy a lot shorter than me (although I'm only 5'5, so he'd have to be pretty damn short.) A few inches wouldn't really bother me though - I know a couple of short lads who're still very 'pretty', as it were. My boyfriend is only a little bit taller than me, and when I'm wearing big heels I'm as tall, if not taller. I actually find this quite entertaining, but this is probably just because I have quite a competitive nature... :P
My cousin's BF is shorter than her, it happens (she's hell hot too - better than me!) x

Personally I wouldnt go out with a guy shorter than me because I am only 5ft tall, so that would make the guy about 4ft 10, BUT if I was taller ( say about 5ft 8 or so, just a random height) I wouldnt really care if the guy was a bit shorter than me.
For me it has to be same height or taller...I just feel uncomfortable otherwise! :s-smilie:
