Economics Requirements

How essential is the Economics A level if i wanted to take economics at University?

I've looked around and found...

Cambridge: "Desirable: Economics to A level. "

LSE: "A level Economics is not essential."

and UCL says nothing about economics. Assuming i get an A in maths and further maths, would it make no difference if i had picked economics or not? The reason is that it clashes with physics at my school and i would prefer to take physics at A level, well that depends on how much economics is needed. From the looks of it, it doesn't seem to be. What do you guys think/have you found?

Oh ok then, great =D
i got an offer from warwick, and i haven't done a-level economics

but this was because my school didn't offer economics, and in fact i did a-level physics instead.
