I'm almost 35 (and female, which although it shouldn't matter, it may do to some). Am I too old to learn a trade? Specifically thinking about carpentry, but I understand that many people learn trades through apprenticeships, which are unfunded as far as I know for those over a certain age. Also, difficult to come by.

Any advice or knowledge on this would be appreciated. Many thanks.

Have you found this site yet?
    http://www.bwf.org.uk/training/apprenticeships

Seems that at least partial funding may be available for those over 20.

As long as you're still breathing it's very too late to learn a trade. Sod what anyone else thinks or says. It's youre life and you don't want to get to 90 and regret never going after what you wanted in life. Go for it!

Live your life the way you want to live it!

Go for it, if that's what you wanna do then don't let anything/anyone stop you!
    Good Luck!
