I recently sat my highers, and have managed to achieve 5As and a B... (Yes, at my school we do 6 highers)
The As were in biology, physics, maths, english and french, but sadly, the B was in chemistry. Some friends have told me this will affect my application for medicine a lot, but others have said i may not be penilised at all because I still have 5 As.
Anyone have any advice on the best places to apply with these results? I live in Scotland, and cannot apply to St Andrews already with the B Any advice is helpful.

Dundee will accept the B in chemistry at higher: http://www.dundee.ac.uk/study/ug/med...y-requirements

Edinburgh will also take the B in chemistry: http://www.ed.ac.uk/studying/undergr...amme&code=A100

If you have done access glasgow then you will be eligible to apply there, but sadly if not your highers will not meet the minimum entry requirements: http://www.gla.ac.uk/undergraduate/d...ryrequirements

St andrews will not accept a B at S5 level im afraid.

Obviously as a scottish applicant you would prefer to stay in scotland where tuition is free, but have a look further afield, manchester would accept your grades at higher, Liverpool may accept them as well.

Not sure it just says if you participate in the access to glasgow scheme then you can get a reduced offer. enquire via glasgow.
