    Hello everyone,

I've recently made a final decision as to what I want to do after uni - become an English FE teacher! the problem is, I'm going into the 3rd and final year of my English Lit degree. How will I be able to find the time to gain experience in time for the 2017 round of applications?

In my experience, FE teaching courses are much less strict on having experience days compared to secondary and primary teaching courses.

You could do an evening course in the qualification formerly known as ptlls to get a head start It's now called level 3 award in education and training. Most colleges do a September intake for it.

You sound in the exact same position as me last year.

I had no experience and got offered 2/2 interviews but I think i may have been lucky.

I would try phoning local colleges and see if you could sit in as a TA for a lesson or two, you don't need anywhere near the experience needed for a PGCE in another sector.
