    It can be if you want.

    There's an option when you apply for acommodation to request same-sex lodging.

    I'd suggest e-mailing or phoning the Accommodation office (https://www.aber.ac.uk/en/accommodation/) if there's a specific issue or something which means you have to have same-sex accommodation.

    Roommates = sharing a room, in which case, yes, always. If you mean are Halls mixed, ie might your next door neighbour be a different gender to you, then yes, most halls (in fact all at Aber I think) are mixed.

    my daughter and friends requested a same sex one in second year it was not given. you will have your own room but their easily could be a member of the opposite sex in your accommodation. its not an issue.
