Anyone got a denial on e-mail and got accepted over the phone in clearing?
Has anyone been accepted calling up even being denied on email? And what is the best time to start getting into better Universities when they need places filled up?
Aside from clearing and adjustment you're unlikely to get into a uni that't already rejected you unless something went wrong with your application process. Your best bet is to wait to go into clearing or adjustment based on your results.
