I'll be starting university next month and I am struggling with money atm. I need to pay a £375 security deposit before I move into my accommodation. Also I move in on the 17th which is just over a week befor uni/freshers starts so i'll need money to live on for that week.

Does anyone know if I can get my student loan early or any other alternatives? Thanks!

Your entitlement to the loan only starts when you have enrolled officially at the university, so although you are in a difficult position and many others will share it, you aren't able to get it early. (Unless the official rep comes on here and tells me things have changed.)

This is one of the things the student bank account overdraft is for, so get your account set up asap.
