So I've finally completed my degree and have come to the point now where I'm weighing up my options and applying for graduate schemes, I have a steady retail job to support the travel costs and living for the year, but, the process for these schemes are quite lengthy, and it would be naive to plan for the summer too soon in the likely case I don't get onto a scheme I'm interested in and am still applying for jobs / attending assessment days. I can't go away for the year as then I can't attend assessment centers or interviews.

So, to those in a similar position, what else are you doing with your year? I should be delighted to have finished education however I feel as though living a cushy life all year whilst applying for graduate jobs just isn't fulfilling. Just looking for inspiration really.

I spent nearly a year applying for jobs before I finally secured one (starting next week) and I was fortunate enough be able to live at home and be supported by parents. *I volunteered in the office of a childrens cancer charity which was very rewarding, caught up with friends and went to a load of events centred around my interests- mainly stand up comedy and motorsport. There were some boring weeks yes, its impossible to make every week feel fulfilling but I always had something to look forward to.*
