Resits and Results watch

Could I please get some help for my situation?
I completed AQA GCSE Statistics this year in Year 10. However, I know that I messed it up and will not perform as well as I would have liked to. Therefore, I am considering a resit. The only problem is, my school, which sits us early (Yr10) for Statistics is not doing the Statistics course any longer due to funding cuts. Therefore, I won’t be able to resist with my school.
Can I sit this qualification as a private candidate even though I sat it with my school before?
If I resit and apply to university, will they be able to tell that I have resat this GCSE? As I still will be taking it with my 11 other GCSES next summer.
If I do take this qualification again as a private candidate, will my school be able to send my controlled assessments forward onto the new centre or will I have to redo them?
If I resit, will my school be told about my new grade?
Is it worth resitting 1 GCSE? (I think I got an A or a B, which I know is not bad but I wanted to do better)
Thanks and have a great day! Good luck on results day btw!!!!
Do you agree with the proposed ban on plastic straws and cotton buds?
