my dad complains at me saying i watch tv or go on the computer for too long. and, to be fair, i spend essentially all my time not sleeping doing that. but, i then say to him 'what should i do instead' and he says 'i don't know' so even he doesn't know what he wants me to do instead. also, i used to do other stuff that didn't involve technology but he then started taking the **** out of me saying what i was doing was childish, so i stopped. he said he was joking but i know he wasn't because that was a few years ago i stopped and a few months ago i suggested i might start doing it again and he got really angry.

so, basically, here's this guy who's ocmplaining when i'm not using technology and complains when i do use technology. i can't win with this guy.

Maybe he just wants you to get a job or spend more time with friends or something. Try sitting down and having a calm conversation with him when neither of you are upset with the other. How old are you? When I was younger I had these arguments with my mum all the time.
