Zooey Deschanel literally gave her daughter the middle name of "Otter" because she thinks otters are cute.

What weird middle names have you heard of? And what do you think of the name "Otter"?

Any names that originate from an object or a place are funny to me :mmm: I shall name my children if a boy Daniel Elijah Raccoon Gorilla and if a girl Daniela Eva Panda Koala

At least it was her middle name and not her first name.

People are ****ing idiots when it comes to naming their kids. "Mercedes" confirmed this for me years ago.

I don't think having Otter for a middle name is anywhere near as bad as having Apple for a first name

Celebrities tend to give their children very interesting and unusual names.

Apparently actress Anne Heche named her son after Atlas of Greek mythology thereby putting the weight of the world on his shoulders.

The car was named after a girl called Mercedes, which is a common Spanish name, not the other way around originally.

We had a "Vermillia" at school (middle name - girl) and also (different school) someone with "Hydrangea" (eg, the flower) as a first name - luckily for them, they had a reasonable sounding middle name to change it to. :teehee:

Funnily, my name is Amethyst - derived from Greek mythology. My other potential names were Medusa or Cassiopeia, so I think I got lucky

I think Apple is quite pretty for a first name

    I mean Peaches is worse.

Some welsh names are awful, such as Blodwyn (pronounced Blodwin). I know a girl called that who was called that and was forever nicknamed 'Blodders'.
