If you're over 16 then they definitely can, but I think that contraceptives may be an exception to this (you can get them younger than this, I think), but I don't know for certain.
Yep, over 16, its all confidential, unless they feel its a really serious matter that your parents should know about.
Thanks, well I'm not going to ask for info on contraception so I'm fine.

Just wondering, my GP is really good friends with my mother, so can I be sure that everything I say to her is between me and her?

Yes, everything should be completely confidential. The Doctor could lose their job if they broke confidentiality without very very good reason
Depends, because if it's for say, a sore knee, then I'm sure it doesn't matter if the drug isn't that strong.
