I'm currently taking a caurse in Software Engineering. From the course, it states that Software engineers wants to create Softwares that is reusable and component based. How do they acheive that? What language they have to use to make it 'reusable'?

It's not a case of language, it's a case of creating components of code that can be used for more than one purpose by making the methods, functions and usage of the class flexible.

This is of course, a load of *******s, ignoring libraries, in-house software or code is rarely re-used between different projects.

may not be, but should be easily re-usable should the need arise. Doesn't take forever to create good component based code. Easiest example I can come up with is think of a spread sheet. You create your accounts and in a row of cells you input today's tax rates and other vital info such as basic minimum no tax rate etc... would you want to recreate the whole sheet each year i.e. hard coded calculations or better to have a modular approach where a one can quickly reuse existing data with minimal input.

You've already asked the question and received good answers.

It's obviously a duplicate thread. Both threads are the same age.
