Hey there! Sorry if this is in the wrong section, I've never used this website before. Long story short my English teacher wanted us to have our topics and such sorted out for our dissertation when we came back to school (today, the 16th) however I am still stumped, I have no clue what to write on. It appears everybody chooses very contemporary pieces while I can't keep up with that stuff.

I had an idea, however I'm not sure it'll work but I wanted to get opinions. Do you think it would be possible to write a dissertation on comic books? I understand that some comics aren't what one would consider "up to par" with a lot of other work however you could write quite a bit on certain stories, for example personal strength, emasculation, perception of reality, social commentary vs present focus etc etc. There is a lot of options for it however I feel I wont be taken seriously primarily due to the fact it is a comic book.

Any help would be appreciated. Feedback and advice too. Also, I understand the question (possibly myself) seems a little naive and dense however I ask you dont respond in a rude manner, please take that elsewhere.

    Thank you!

Your teachers are the best people to ask. They will be able to advise about whether the topic is feasible, too broad or narrow and fits the remit.
