It's better. You don't need as much to get drunk, so it's cheaper, and also healthier. Your friends may well end up damaging their livers, you as a lightweight are far less likely to. Don't try to be a heavyweight.

Apparently the heavier you are the harder it is to get drunk. Also, if you've just eaten, the food apparently absorbs the alcohol so, it takes longer to get drunk..

Well if you what you're saying is that you want to drink more on nights out, I suggest eating a lot of bread or other foods which are naturally starchy, it really induces a delay effect on the alcohol in your body. If you want to last longer in the evenings, just pace yourself, the body can break down one unit of alcohol in one hour = 1 beer, alopop, glass of wine. Also, as you drink more you'll develop a tolerance to alcohol and will eventually be able to consume more before getting drunk, up to a point.
If it doesn't take you much to get drunk, thus shortening your evening, space out your drinks and in between have soft drinks that way you'll go longer before getting legless!
Yeah because it's cheaper and healthier really.

As beach surf babe said, space it out and drink non-alcoholic stuff if you don't want to get drunk too fast.
It's cheaper. So yes.

Its better if you have the ability to stop yourself, otherwise you'll end up on the floor and forgetting every night out if you try and keep up. Just drink really slowly, or have none alcoholic drinks inbetween so you are drinking something when your friends are!

Much better I'd say. I'm a lightweight. I can only have about 2 bottles and I'm already tipsy. Thankfully I'm still fairly sober to realise what I'm doing.

i think the more regularly you drink the more it will take you to get drunk.

Yeah my boyfriend winds me up about it. I find it funny though.

I love that relaxed carefree feeling from drinking and i can get that after 1 beer. If it took me more i would feel all bloated and awful so it would really spoil my day if i had to drink much to get that feeling. therefore lightweight is a beautiful thing to be.

the amount of times ive gotten drunk by accident though when all i wanted wazs a social drink really sucks

it basically takes me 3 alco pops to get me blocked, no joke. sometimes it really annoys me because im drunk way before my friend have even started getting happy. however it also means that my average carry out is way cheaper than any one elses and i dont have to keep buying drinks. im just wondering, is there any way of becoming a heavyweight or will i be like this forever???

It's just the way it is!

Prepare for a lifetime of constant ribbing for being wimpy with drink.

It takes me around 5 alcopops to get drunk.
I love it...makes for very cheap nights out. I used to be able to drink around 20 units at least before getting very drunk, until I went too far a year ago and collapsed.
Trust me, it's much more fun getting drunk on £5.

Who the heck drinks alcopops anyhow? They're designed for kiddies!

I'm a lightweight and I hate it. There is the advantage of getting drunk quicker and more cheaply, but it means that I'll happily be drinking with my friends, they'll be fine, I'll THINK I'm fine, then suddenly it'll hit me like a brick while my friends remain happily drunk/tipsy and I'm completely bladdered.

BTW before anyone does, don't give me the lecture about slowing down your drinking; if it was that simple, then it wouldn't be a problem would it?

I'm a very lightweight! I'm worried that at university I might put myself in danger by getting too drunk but if I don't drink then it might look strange? Tis a dilemma...

It's not wimpy. I actually have a medical condition which means my head can't deal with too much drink.
