    Has anyone read this?

There are some probing reviews, but you always worry that people on Amazon are talking out of their arse. By the by, I am a total novice; Wagner's ring has always seemed inpenetrable and has thus been at the bottom of my "to explore" list. But if this book is as tautly and informatively written as it appears, I hope to rectify the situation and might even avoid becoming the butt of my more musically-minded friends' jokes.

Any other interesting book titles people have come across?

    Not titles, authors: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Unfortunatle.../37D5IC5TJ2UTU

(I posted this a while back, I think).

That Wagner book is notorious; I remember it from a book of 'Tasteless Lists', which also included something called 'The Romance of Leprosy'. Can't remember more. I sometimes imagine books to fit ideal titles, though, such as the Jamesian porn saga, "Who Masie Blew", and the late, grate Baroque stylings of "The Furry Bowl".
