So like many people I've been following the olympics, given the number of athletes there I'm sure there must be some good links people have! It might be you know someone, you could have trained with one of them, you might even have been there yourself. So get thinking!

Mine is, my cousin's sister in law (well long term boyfriend's sister) was the American that won the first gold medal of the games last week, which my family have been very excited about

I met 3 of the Yorkshire-based medal winners from 2012 and was selected as a gamesmaker for both the Olympics and Paralympics in 2012.

Remember the water wheel from the village green setting of the opening ceremony in London?
And the massive floating boat in the opening ceremony for Sochi?
    My brother made them both.

What did you do as a gamesmaker? I really wanted to but was too young at the time and would have struggled with accommodation etc anyway probably, my cousin did though and was amazing!

That is very impressive! Is he some kind of carpenter then or something related? Can't imagine there's many people done things like that, let alone for two games!
