My family refuses to accept my problems Watch

Around the age of 6 i was abused by someone who was a family member, because of the incident my brain filtered out what happened as a defense mechanism until around 6 years ago when my parents found out about what had happened (as my cousin who was also a victim of it told them). My parents were angry and mad at me for not telling them and they just wouldn't understand that i had forgotten about it and chose not to talk about it willingly. Ever since then i have began to have panic attacks and flashbacks to what happened, this causes me to lose myself in situations and its hard to deal with them, my parents didn't let me get any therapy as they thought i wasn't a victim and whenever i ask for help they refuse to think anything is wrong. I have improved in my health since then but i still need a way to cope... any ideas?

You don't need parental permission to get help. See your GP and see what they can offer. I'm sorry you're not being supported at home. I am sure this isdifficult for your parents but this is not the best way for them to deal with it.
