Well I can give you some but I'd have to give you an awful lot for you to get an idea of the scope of the subject. I mean the first year at Oxford is split into 3, and then each of them is split into... well lots. There's Cells and Genes, which is (funnily enough) split into Cells 1 and 2 and Genes 1 and 2. Then there's Organisms, which splits in 5, and Populations. Plus QM but we don't talk about that. Lecture handouts vary wildly by lecturer so there's no overall style as such to observe. You might be better off just asking questions hehe!

On the Oxford Biology website theres a link to "Web Learn". Nosey as I am I clicked on it. I don't know if you can actually access the lecture notes (I imagine you have to be a registered bio student to do so), but it does have synopsis to each lecture.

Hope that helps

Unfortunately, yes
To be honest, the lecture content/style varies SO much between lecturers- it's likely to be even greater between unis.

Sorry to not be of much help

Best bet is to have a look at the course structure of a few unis you are niterested in. Chances are that as it is such a large subjkect you will be able to pick a lot of the miodules yourself.

First year wasn't really much work for me to be honest, we had to be in labs all day once a week, then it was about 18 hours of lecture on top of that. Not that I went to all of them. - if anyone wants to add me on msn, i'll send them a few examples of lecture notes i've got from last year though. PM me for me email address. Or it might be on my profile. I can't remember.
