Would being a Section Leader be a big positive in an application?

What/how did you do academic wise?
How many years of industry experience did you have prior to the job?
Was getting your first job in HR difficult?
    Is HR stressful?

Sorry if they're confidential, ignore them

    Love your questions!
For my a-levels i studied Business, Psychology and Textile Technology, then went on to the University of Leeds and studied BA Management (I got a 2.1 ) I've just finished a Postgraduate Diploma in HR Management at the University of Brighton too!

Before joining TSR I had worked in HR for about 7 years. I was lucky to get my first HR job doing some maternity cover- it was only meant to be a couple of months but it was a great way of seeing if I liked it- turns out I did! you really have to be happy to start with the basic admin bits and bobs to begin with.

Is it stressful? At times yes! You have to be able to deal with conflict and emotional/upset people which can be tough. But its also lovely too when you can see how happy people are to be offered jobs or promotions etc. and also when employees achieve great things and develop in areas that you have helped them with!

Thank you very very much, this has provided me with a lot of useful insight *

Would you be up for a controversial topic?

Do you believe HRM can be unethical at times? Using employees as an asset, minimising costs/maximising efficiency, down sizing, perhaps manipulating to an extent?

If no (and I completely understand!),

Thank you again, I may be back later if you're around

    Oooooh! Big question! haha!
HR plays a tricky balancing act between company and employee needs. We have to be business savvy and keep an eye on costs whilst also providing all we can to make sure all employees are happy!
HR good practice can vary between industries and companies, so if you are looking for an HR job its vital that you check your values are in line with the company you would be working for. I personally couldn't work for a company that didn't value their employees!
